Places to visit

Nestled in the peaceful countryside of the Marche region, Villa Checco enjoys a privileged location, just steps away from two true hilltop gems: Montedinove and Montalto delle Marche, in the heart of Ascoli Piceno province.
Just a few kilometers away, Montedinove rises atop a hill at over 560 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking views of the Sibillini Mountains and the rolling surrounding hills. With its stone houses and the slow rhythm of rural life, the village enchants all who seek authenticity and tranquility.
Montalto delle Marche, birthplace of Pope Sixtus V, captivates visitors with its perfectly preserved historic center, rich in historical landmarks, artistic treasures, and natural beauty. Strolling through its streets feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by ancient palaces, majestic churches, and charming views.
For nature lovers, the Monti Sibillini National Park is an unmissable destination, a natural paradise ideal for hiking, trekking, and revitalizing walks among enchanting landscapes, wildlife, and exceptional biodiversity.
Not far off, the picturesque village of Force preserves an ancient tradition: copper craftsmanship. Its artisan workshops open their doors to curious visitors, offering the unique opportunity to watch craftspeople at work, surrounded by hammers, fire, and creativity.
The area also comes alive with fascinating events that celebrate local culture and traditions:
- “Sibillini in Rosa”: Every November, Montedinove pays tribute to the prized Mela Rosa of the Sibillini Mountains, an ancient apple variety with a rich aroma and unmistakable flavor. The event features markets, tastings, workshops, and performances, celebrating local agricultural and culinary heritage.
- “The Night of Witches and Elves”: Every year from August 12th to 14th, Montalto delle Marche transforms into a magical open-air stage under the stars, with fairy tales, street performances, and the mysterious “witch hunt” enchanting both young and old.
