External Description

Once an old Pisan watchtower, Villa la Volta is located in a hilly position in the midst of the countryside around Volterra, along the ancient Wine and Olive Oil Route that continues on to San Gimignano.
The property is surrounded by a large park with vast expanses of wheat fields and olive groves, lawn, colorful flowers, hedges and a corner planted with herbs.
Within the park there are several lounge areas where you can relax, while sipping a good glass of wine.
Guests can also enjoy a rectangular, panoramic pool (6 x 15 m), open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October. Just 10 meters from the villa, the pool can be heated on request (at extra cost) and boasts: a spacious solarium with parasols and sunbeds; internal lighting; some Roman steps to enter the water.
Furthermore, you will find a parking area and a large, panoramic terrace from which you can admire a breathtaking panorama over the Tuscan landscape. The terrace is furnished with sofas, armchairs, dining table and barbecue.

Internal Description

Furnished in an elegant style with travertine floors and design elements, Villa la Volta is spread over 4 floors and can accommodate up to 20 people, has 9 bedrooms (including 6 doubles and 3 twins with divisible beds) and 10 bathrooms (including 9 ensuite with shower and 1 with shower).
The villa has Internet Wifi and air conditioning in all rooms. Pets are allowed on request at an extra cost.

Ground floor: The ground floor is characterized by some large windows that open out to the external areas as well as to the pool area . The main entrance leads to a spacious open space including: a living area with sofas, a tv corner, a dining area with 2 tables for 10 people each, a bright, professional kitchen (equipped with oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine, fridge and toaster), and a play area (with foosball table and ping-pong table). Finally you will find a bathroom with shower, used also by the pool area.

First floor: The first floor, reachable via an internal staircase, consists of 4 suites, all equipped with bathroom (with shower) and independent access (including two suites have access on the back of the villa).
On this floor there is also the panoramic terrace, and a living room with a double sofa bed.

Second floor: From the panoramic terrace stairs go up to the second floor where you will find 4 other suites with bathroom (with shower).

Third floor: Continuing up the stairs you will get to the top floor, located inside the tower. Here there is a bathroom with shower, and a spacious double bedroom with a unique view over the Tuscan countryside.

Prices and conditions

Included in the price: Utilities (water and gas for cooking purposes); park and pool maintenance; Internet Wifi.

Excluded from the price: Electricity (0.80 cents per Kw); final cleaning (250.00€); pets on request (30.00€ per week for small pets and 70.00€ per week for medium-large pets); extra cleaning (22.00€/h per person); extra linen change (15.00€ per person); heating and pool heating (on consumption according to prices current at the time of the stay). Tourist tax (the amount usually varies, depending on location, from €0,50 to €4.00 per person per night for a maximum of seven nights, excluding minors, and will be paid upon arrival).

Security deposit: Customers are required to pay 500,00€ security deposit upon arrival (cash), which will be returned at the end of the stay upon any damages.

Places to visit

Villa la Volta is located in the wonderful countryside of Volterra, an ancient Medieval village famous for its imposing Etruscan walls. The property is located along the ancient Wine and Olive Oil Route, in a tranquil position and surrounded by the typical hilly landscape around Volterra.
In less than 10 minutes by car you can get to the restaurants, shops and cafés in the town centre, as well as to a tennis club with a five-a-side football field, and to riding stables, while in about 30-40 minutes you can find the Golf Club of Castelfalfi, San Gimignano (with its beautiful towers) and The Theatre of Silence in Lajatico (a natural amphitheater carved into the beautiful hills of Lajatico, where every year takes place an important musical event, organized by the tenor Andrea Bocelli).
For sea lovers, the nearest seaside resorts are: Cecina (47 km), Vada (53 km) and Rosignano Marittimo (58 km) with its white sandy beaches.
The famous Tuscan cities of art (Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca) are easily reachable by car.
