External Description

Residenza Ortensia is a delightful apartment located in the historic complex of Matraia, just 10 km from Lucca. The ancient Borgo comprises several buildings (divided into perfectly restored apartments) and the the sumptuous historic Villa dating back to the 16th century.
The Borgo is surrounded by a large, well-kept centuries-old park that protects the entire property from the outside, ensuring the utmost privacy and security.
Among the shared outdoor spaces, besides the beautiful park, you will also find a panoramic terrace with pool (12 x 6 m), equipped with sun loungers and parasols, from which you can admire a breathtaking view over the Lucca valley.
At guests' disposal also a private parking.

Internal Description

Residenza Ortensia is furnished in a modern style, and is spread over one single level, on the ground floor of one of the buildings (once part of the "farmer's house") inside the ancient Borgo. It can accommodate up to 6 people, has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The apartment is provided with private entrance, Internet Wifi and air conditioning. Pets are allowed on specific request at an extra cost.

The apartment boasts a large private garden (220 sqm), equipped with sun loungers, and a dining area with parasol, ideal for alfresco meals.
Internally you will find a lovely living area with double sofa bed, tv, dining table for 6 people, and a small kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, stove, toaster and coffee machine.
The apartment is completed by 2 spacious double bedrooms with wardrobe, and 2 bathrooms with shower (one of which has a washing machine).

On the basement of the historic villa, inside the charming cellars, there is an equipped gym (open from 9 am to 7 pm), whose access is included in the price.

Prices and conditions

Included in the price: Use of the gym and the pool; access to the centuries-old park of the Borgo; utilities (water, gas, electricity); Internet Wifi; 1 parking space.

Excluded from the price: Final cleaning (80.00€). Tourist tax if required (the amount usually varies, depending on location, from €0,50 to €4.00 per person per night for a maximum of seven nights, excluding minors, and will be paid upon arrival).

Security deposit: Customers are required to pay 500,00€ security deposit upon arrival (cash), which will be returned at the end of the stay after checking the apartment and assessing any damages.

Residenza Ortensia is nestled in a typically hilly landscape of Tuscany, just 10 km from Lucca, a beautiful Medieval city traditionally called the "city of a hundred churches" for the large number of places of worship within the city center, and famous for its imposing tree-lined walls, that can be entirely walkable.
Moreover, Lucca is the venue for several musical and cultural events throughout the year, such as Lucca Summer & Winter Festival e il Lucca Comics & Games.
Beyond the city of Lucca, one of the main tourist attractions of the surrounding area is the presence of countless historic villas, beautifully preserved and absolutely bewitching thanks to the group of gardens, parks, tree-lined avenues and “water games”.
Within 40 minutes by car you can reach both Pisa, the city of the leaning tower, and Montecatini Terme, a renowned Tuscan spa resort.
Also within 40 minutes by you can visit the Versilia coast, a tourist and seaside riviera known throughout Italy for its nightlife and clubs: the towns of Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta Lovers of nature and sports (trekking and mountain biking) cannot miss the opportunity to organize an excursion to Garfagnana, an area rich in natural landscapes, peaks, trails, and ancient villages to discover. Besides the cuisine of this area is based on the aromas and flavors of tradition.
